EZ Clean – WordPress Restoration & Optimization for 3 Cleaning Service Websites
The owner of EZ Clean, operates three separate cleaning service websites targeting different areas in New York. Each website serves a unique purpose but shares a common goal: to generate leads and establish trust with local clients searching for residential and commercial cleaning solutions.
When client reached out, one of his websites was completely inaccessible due to a critical WordPress error. The other two were functional but plagued by plugin conflicts, theme compatibility issues, and slow loading speeds—making them unreliable and difficult to manage.
My Role and the Challenges
The project required advanced technical troubleshooting and performance optimization. Here’s what I was brought in to do:
Restore the inaccessible website suffering from a critical error.
Audit and fix all three websites for plugin/theme conflicts and broken functionality.
Optimize page speed, performance, and overall reliability.
Ensure all sites were responsive across devices and displayed consistently.
One major challenge was the lack of documentation from the previous developer. The sites used a mix of Divi, custom-coded PHP/JavaScript, and third-party plugins. Unraveling the logic behind these implementations required deep investigation and testing to avoid breaking essential components.
The Solution
I began by manually deactivating all plugins and themes via FTP to isolate the source of the critical error. Once the site was restored, I systematically reactivated each plugin and theme, identifying and resolving the conflicts causing the crash.
Across all three sites, I performed the following:
Fixed broken functionality caused by outdated or conflicting plugins and themes.
Cleaned up the codebase and removed unnecessary bloat to reduce load time.
Optimized images and assets to improve site performance and reduce bandwidth usage.
Applied caching and compression techniques for faster loading across all devices.
Ensured full mobile responsiveness with layout fixes and media queries where needed.
Delivered ongoing support and maintenance, keeping the sites stable and up to date.
Results & Future Support
After my intervention, all three websites are now:
Visibly faster and more responsive.
Functionally restored, with no more plugin/theme conflicts.
Easier to manage, thanks to streamlined settings and fewer compatibility errors.
Stable for future growth, with ongoing support from my end.
This project reinforced the importance of technical problem-solving in WordPress development—especially when taking over from previous developers without documentation. It also emphasized how critical speed, reliability, and device compatibility are for service-based businesses like EZ Clean.
